Field Trip: Point Reyes National Seashore

Date: Saturday October 13, 2018

Time: 8:00 AM

Join us for this field trip to Point Reyes National Seashore, where we will focus on fall migrants, both uplands and coastal. (NSAS Event)

Details:

Leader: Gordon Beebe

Description: We will meet at 8:00 am at the Whitehouse Pool parking lot, on Sir Francis Drake Blvd, a couple of miles southwest of the town of Pt. Reyes Station. From there, we will start out towards the Point, stopping at the Inverness Tennis Courts if any rarities have been seen there. We will then stop at Mt. Vision Rd. near another riparian area, and then on to the Historic B and A ranches to look for owls and others. After that, we will stop at the Chimney Rock/Fish Docks parking lot to bird and have lunch. Time permitting, we will stop at Drakes Beach.

The weather can be either hot or cold and windy, so everyone should bring layers. There are a few places with restrooms, but nowhere to buy food, so bring all beverages and lunches with you.

This trip is limited to 15 participants. Please RSVP to Wendy Cole at beehaven2@comcast.net.

Directions: Meet at 8:00 am at the Whitehouse Pool parking lot, on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. See http://madroneaudubon.org/pdf/WhiteHousePool.pdf.
