Time: 9:00 AM

Leader: Crystal DeMarco

Description: What are the different kinds of nests that birds build? Try your hand at building a nest yourself. Find out about active nests with living birds that you can watch from your computer. Several different types of nests will be available for you to look at up close, and we will watch for more nests on our walk.

The workshop will last from 9:00 to 9:30, followed by a walk through Newell Canyon Open Space Preserve. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please wear sturdy walking shoes or boots and bring water and binoculars if you have them.

Directions: Meet at the Newell Open Space Preserve parking lot at 9:00 a.m. From Hwy 29, drive east on Donaldson Way until it ends and then turn left on Newell Drive.
