Field Trip: Birds & Blooms Workshop and Beginning Bird WalkDate: Saturday April 21, 2018Time: 9:00 AMWalks and workshops aimed at Beginning Birders are held twice a month on Saturdays. All workshops begin at 9 a.m., followed by a bird walk at 9:30 a.m. until noon at Benicia State Recreation Area. (NSAS Event) Details:Leader: Crystal DeMarco Description: What are the adaptations that birds have to their flowering and fruiting botanical counterparts? What beak shapes make a bird better suited for crushing seeds or fruit or sipping nectar? Learn about the purpose of such a wide variety of fascinating beak shapes. The workshop will start at 9:00 a.m. followed by a walk at 9:30 a.m. until noon. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Please bring binoculars if you have them and water. Directions: Meet at the parking lot by the Native Plant Garden at the Benicia State Park Recreation Area. There is a $5 entrance fee.
