Field Trip: Newell Preserve Walk & Nest Box Installation Family friendly event

Walks and workshops aimed at beginning birders are held twice a month on Saturdays. All workshops begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by bird walks at 9:30 a.m. until noon. (NSAS Event)

Description: Learn about birds that use cavities for nesting, and help us install some nest boxes. After the workshop we will bird the trail and help with the installation of new nest boxes along the way.

The workshop begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by a bird walk and nest box installation at Newell Open Space Preserve at 9:30 a.m. until noon. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). This walk requires some hiking up hills. Please bring binoculars if you have them and water.

Directions: Meet at the Newell Open Space Preserve parking lot at 9:00 a.m. From Hwy 29, drive east on Donaldson Way until it ends and then turn left on Newell Drive.
