Field Trip: Rush Ranch Walk & Habitat Workshop

Walks and workshops aimed at beginning birders are held twice a month on Saturdays. All workshops begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by bird walks at 9:30 a.m. until noon. (NSAS Event)

Description: What are the elements that create a wildlife habitat? We will explore the 5 different habitats that the wetlands provide, and explore how each one supports different birds.

The workshop begins at 9am., followed by a bird walk at Rush Ranch Open Space and Grizzly Island Wildlife Area at 9:30 a.m. until noon. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). This walk requires some hiking up hills. Please bring binoculars if you have them and water.

Directions: Meet at the Rush Ranch parking lot at 9:00 a.m. From Hwy 80, drive east on Hwy 12 for approximately three miles to Grizzly Island Road. Turn right on Grizzly Island Road and go two miles to the ranch entrance at 3521 Grizzly Island Road.
