Field Trip: King Ridge Road

Join Ken Wilson of Talon Tours for our first field trip of the fall along the Russian River Freezeout Canyon Road and King Ridge Road. (NSAS Event)

Leader: Ken Wilson of Talon Tours

Description: Ken Wilson will take us birding along the Russian River riparian zone on Freezeout Canyon Road before carpooling up to King Ridge Road. (Six cars maximum). We will be looking for eagles, woodpeckers (possibly Pileated), migrating passerines (warblers and vireos), plus sparrows and flycatchers in the higher elevations. It may be possible to hear Sooty Grouse and Mountain Quail. The trip should last from approximately 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Limited to 15 people. Please make reservations with coordinator below.

Wear layered clothing, and be prepared for heat and cold. Bring snacks, lunch and water.

Directions: Meet 8:00 am at the Gold Coast Coffee and Bakery 25377 Steelhead Drive, Duncans Mills, CA.
