Description: Birds are the only living things that have feathers. Humans have a long history of fascination with feathers, using them as decorations, in our bedding, and as inspiration for developing the air
plane. During this workshop we will explore a little of this history, as well as discuss all of the functions a feather has for birds.
The workshop begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by a bird walk at Newell Open Space Preserve at 9:30 a.m. until noon. Walks are appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). This walk requires some hiking up hills. Please bring binoculars if you have them and water.
Directions: Meet at the Newell Open Space Preserve parking lot at 9:00 a.m. From Hwy 29, drive east on Donaldson Way until it ends and then turn left on Newell Drive.
Coordinator: Contact Wendy Schackwitz at napa-solano-birds AT outlook.com for more information.
