Field Trip: Kennedy ParkDate: Friday September 26, 2014Time: 8:00 AMWeekly Friday trip (NSAS Event) Details:Leader: Wendy Schackwitz Description: The weed fields and willow thickets at Kennedy Park have been active with migrant wood warblers and fall arrivals the past two weeks. Tennessee Warbler and American Redstart were there plus Lincoln's Sparrow and Hermit Thrush. We'll walk the riverside trails north and south from the picnic area and look at the college duck pond. Most of this is on pavement but some is not so mud and associated schmutz could follow the predicted Thursday rain. Napa carpool leaves from the east side of Sweeney's sport shop in Riverpark shopping center at 8:00am. Riverpark is off Imola Ave between Jefferson and Coombs. On your own, be at the parking lot at the end of Streblow Drive, just past the picnic area at 8:10. From Napa take Hwy 221 south to Streblow. Read more about these trips on the Friday Bird Walks page. |
