Field Trip: Lagoon Valley Park - 7:30 carpool

Date: Friday September 17, 2010

Time: 7:30 AM

Weekly Friday trip (NSAS Event)

Details:

Leader: Murray Berner

Description: Lagoon Valley Park near Vacaville is a good area for Yellow and MacGillivray's Warblers, Vaux's Swift and other migrants. It has presented many September surprises through the years, such as Northern Waterthrush and Long-tailed Jaeger. The lagoon usually has a few Lesser Yellowlegs among the small waders. We'll wander the park back to the redwood grove. This is a developed park with mostly paved trails.

The Napa carpool leaves from behind Sweeney's Sport Store in the Riverpark Shopping Center at 7:30am. Solano birders should head for Lagoon Valley on their own. The park is off I-80 just west of Vacaville. Take the Pena Adobe exit. Park in the gravel lot behind the entry kiosk. It's free.
