March and April see all upcoming eventsNSAS Presents: Zoom Speaker Series A Virtual Birding Tour from the Sonoma Coast to Oregon and the Great Basin with Harry Fuller March 10th 7:00 pmThursday March 10, 2022 - 7:00 PM We’ll take a virtual birding tour from the Sonoma Coast north along I-5 to Oregon, with a final stop at a hot-spot in the Great Basin. Our trip will include wintering White Pelicans and nesting ones. Willets on the beach, and nesting in the sagebrush. For listers we’ll talk of good places to see Great Gray Owls in May, White-headed Woodpeckers and dancing Western Grebes. details... Shovelers, American Wigeon, Gadwalls to Snowy and Great Egrets, to American Bitters, to Sora, Virginia, and Black Rails. During the Spring and Fall it is a nice Shorebird Migration stopover. There are also a number of land birds frequenting the grassy fields and willow patches ranging from White-tailed Kites and Northern Harriers to Bluebirds, Tree, Barn, and Violet Green Sewallows, to Savannah, Song and Swamp Sparrows. details...
