To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, the Visions of the Wild Festival will be held in Vallejo, CA from September 3-6, 2014. - Not an NSAS Event

Visions of the Wild is a four-day festival featuring a variety of events, panel discussions, hikes, art exhibits, and film presentations. The festival is designed to encourage the participation of a diverse audience, including those who do not regularly make use of outdoor recreational opportunities, those who do, and those who are newcomers to the idea.

The festival is sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service (headquartered on Mare Island), the Vallejo Community Arts Foundation, Bureau of Land Management, Student Conservation Association, Tuleyome-Deep Home Place, CA State Parks, East Bay Regional Park District, Solano Land Trust, Sonoma Birding, US Fish and Wildlife and many other agencies and organizations.

Napa-Solano Audubon will participate with an exhibit at "The Hub" throughout the four-day festival and a bird walk in American Canyon Wetlands on September 6th. The festival begins on Wednesday, September 3 at 3 p.m. with a free "Walk for Wilderness." September 4th and 5th events begin at 10 a.m., and Saturday, September 6th events begin at 9 a.m. For more information, go to Visions of the Wild.
