Event: Beginning Bird Walk & Beaks WorkshopDate: Saturday August 02, 2014Time: 9:00 AMJoin Wendy Schackwitz for a workshop and bird walk at American Canyon Wetlands focusing on adaptations in bird beaks. (NSAS Event) Details:Ever wonder why some bird's bills are so different from one another? Why does a duck have such a wide bill, a hummingbird such a long skinny bill, and why is the flamingo's bill "upside down?" After a 30 minute workshop we will take a short walk through American Canyon Wetlands to view different examples of birds and their beaks. The walk is on flat ground and appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Bring binoculars if you have them. Meet in the parking lot at Wetlands Edge Road and Eucalyptus Drive in American Canyon Wetlands. submitted on July 07, 2014, at 09:02 PM PST |
