San Francisco Bay Flyway Festival February 8-10th, 2013

Napa-Solano Audubon is one of many organizations participating in the 17th annual San Francisco Bay Flyway Festival! We're planning a special line up of events and we hope to see you there! - Not an NSAS Event

The Flyway Festival events begin on Friday, Feb. 8, but most of the activities sponsored by NSAS are on Saturday and Sunday. We will have information stations with volunteers to help you at these 2 locations from 9 AM to 4 PM Saturday and 9AM to 3PM Sunday:

1. American Canyon Wetlands (Eucalyptus Drive & Wetlands Edge Rd.)
2. the main Flyway Festival building Bldg.#223, 500 Connolly St. on Mare Island (along with all the other groups participating in the festival)

We really encourage you to drive out and visit us at the American Canyon Wetlands! The new public trail is a splendid place to take a walk and see lots of birds. Click the image to the left to see a color map of this trail, where we will be setting up observation stations and leading bird walks. Here is a schedule of NSAS planned activities. Beginners or children accompanied by an adult will be welcome on all the field trips. Also, activities especially designed for children and families are in blue text and show this symbol:

Saturday, February 9

8:30 AM	Field Trip from American Canyon Wetlands to the Quarry with Robin Leong
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM	Visit our welcome tables in 2 locations (see above). Offering resources about backyard birding, birding trails, local field guides, children's activities & more
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM	Self-guided walks in the American Canyon Wetlands. 4 stations will staffed by skilled birders with spotting scopes who can point out the birds they see & share interesting wetlands stories.
10:00 AM	Beginning bird walks for families at American Canyon Wetlands!
2:00 PM	Beginning bird walks for families at American Canyon Wetlands!
12:30 PM	Raptor Field Trip to Skaggs Island with Murray Berner
Sunday, February 10
9:00 AM	Raptor Field trip to Skaggs Island with Murray Berner
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM	Visit our welcome tables in 2 locations (see above), children's activities, birding resources, Napa field guide for sale
9:00 AM to 4:00 PM	Self-guided walks in the American Canyon Wetlands. 4 stations will "manned" by skilled birders with spotting scopes who can point out the birds they see & share interesting wetlands stories.

2:00 PM	Nature Journaling for families on American Canyon Trails
