Event: Bed and Breakfast Birding in Southeast Arizona

Date: Tuesday June 12, 2012

Time: 6:30 PM

For our June monthly meeting, NSAS is excited to welcome back Tony Battiste. This meeting will begin with a potluck dinner. Please bring a dish to share and prepare for an entertaining and informative program! (NSAS Event)

Details:

Southeast Arizona is renowned for its great weather, scenery, and birding, but another of its treasures is the fine birder-friendly lodging possibilities that abound. From 5 star B&B's in the Tucson area to more modest or rustic accommodations in remote sky-island mountain locations, birders are sure to find a B&B that suits their budgets and the needs.

Long-time NSAS member and friend Tony Battiste moved to Hereford Arizona from California in 2003, where he and his wife Julie began hosting the Battiste Bed and Breakfast. An accomplished bird photographer and guide, Tony will share his expertise not just on the birds of the region, but the birder-friendly lodging possibilities, pointing out why one should consider staying in certain locations, where specialty birds are most easily seen, who to hire as a guide, and so much more.

This will be our last monthly meeting until September. Come enjoy a fun potluck dinner then be entertained by this long-time NSAS member, as he takes you on a "Bed and Breakfast Birding Tour of Southeastern Arizona."

Potluck Dinner: The potluck will begin at 6:30 pm followed by announcements and the program. Beverages and paper plates, etc. will be provided. Please bring a dish to share. Contact Pat Hildreth 707 252-8928 with any questions about the potluck.

Our monthly meetings are held at the Florence Douglas Senior Center, 333 Amador Street, Vallejo, CA. Click here for a map and more information about monthly meetings.
